Practice Manager
Mrs Janine Ellis is the practice
manager and is responsible for administrative and financial matters affecting
the practice.
Nurses
Our nurses provide a wide range of medical services including dressings, removal
of stitches, ear syringing spirometry, travel advice, immunisations, Dopplers, smoking cessation, oral contraceptive
pill checks, cervical smears (we recommend that all women between the ages of
24 and 65 should have a regular smear test). They also run a COPD clinic and an asthma clinic. Sister Kirton runs a nurse-led triage service and minor illness sessions. Appointments can be made through the receptionists.
Administrative
Staff
Our administration team will assist
with prescriptions, referral letters, private fees and general enquiries.
Receptionists
These are the first members of the
primary healthcare team you will meet, either on the telephone or at the surgery.
They are fully trained to do a difficult job.
Please remember that if you seem
to be kept waiting or are asked one or two irritating questions they are only
carrying out our policy which is aimed to make the practice run as smoothly as
possible. They have to judge the urgency of your request, so please try to give
them the necessary information.
Health Care Assistant
Our health care assistant carries
out routine blood pressure and weight checks, ECGs, new patient checks and works
alongside the doctors and nurses when performing minor ops, dressings and spirometry.
District Nurses
We have a team of district nurses
attached to the practice who provide shared care for our patients who are unable
to attend the surgery.
Midwife
We maintain a close liaison with
the community midwife. She holds a weekly antenatal clinic at the surgery.
Health Visitors
The health visitors are based at
Hertford County Hospital and can be contacted by telephoning 01707 369148. They
will be pleased to help and advise on all child health matters. |
